FOUNTAIN OF TEARS has signed a worldwide distribution deal with Nightmare Records. Their new album, "Fate", contains 12 tracks of female-fronted melodic metal with progressive and gothic overtones. "Fate" was produced by the Trauma Team (BELIEVER, EARTH CRISIS, LIVING SACRIFICE) in Pennsylvania and mastered by Peter van't Reit (AFTER FOREVER, SYMPHONY X, STREAM OF PASSION, AYREON, EPICA, THRESHOLD, SAGA, etc.) at FineTune in The Netherlands. The total running time is 55 minutes.
FOUNTAIN OF TEARS was formed in 1995 and has retained the core lineup of Joey Daub - drums (BELIEVER), Jeff King - keyboards (SARDONYX), Erik Ney - bass (SACRAMENT) and Mike DiDonato - guitar (SACRAMENT) through their first album to the present. The music of FOUNTAIN OF TEARS is completed by the ethereal and powerful voice of Vonnie King, who was formerly signed to Motown Records.
Not a NIGHTWISH, LACUNA COIL or EVANESCENCE clone band, FOUNTAIN OF TEARS captures an original blend of progressive metal and gothic rock in a way that takes the listener on a musical journey through many emotions without compromising a high level of musicianship.
Fate is now available on iTunes. You can use iTunes to gift a song or the whole album to a friend. Check it out here: Fountain of Tears on iTunes

"Vonnie King is a wonderful vocalist who helps to give the band its signature ethereal sound, putting forth a fitting performance that comes across powerful but inauspicious at the same time. Didonato furnishes just the right amount of rhythm guitar to push things into metal territory but not so much as to become overriding. His fluid and at times showy lead work brings out the best in several standout tracks, including “Desire”, “Falling” and “Forever Lost”. Jeff King adds the atmospheric touch on keyboards, always highlighting – particularly with his graceful use of piano – but never taking a precedence over the music. Joey Daub joins his technical style of drumming with the steady bass lines of Erik Ney to round out the rhythm section.
Production values are of a professional quality with a clean mix allowing all the instrumentation to cleanly stand out."

The following sites are carrying the new album. More to come in the near future.
"And it is indeed refreshing to hear a female-fronted Metal band, that doesn’t sound like Nightwish, Evanescence or Within Temptation."
"Fate is an album that makes you want to lie back in a huge, old arm-chair and sip fine red wine. A highly recommended release."

Each one of us in the band has been looking forward to this day for quite a long time. The making of the album was a very long process and we had to face and overcome many hurdles in the years it took us to complete the project. Now it is out of our hands, and in yours . . . ready to take on a life of its own. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
We'd like to give special thanks to those of you who pre-ordered the album. There are many up front costs associated with a CD release and we placed our own money on the table to make this happen. Each pre-order gives us a little more breathing room.
If you like the music of Fountain of Tears and are interested in helping others discover it, there are many things you can do. We've decided to keep the full album available for streaming for a little while longer, so you can tell others to check it out. A simple mention of the album, why you like it and a link to our web site from your blog or MySpace page can go a long way, too.
Finally, a word about the web site. We're in the process of redesigning and adding new content. Our first priority is to let you purchase individual songs for download, and that should be ready to go very soon. After that's in place we'll have some live footage and some other things for you to check out.
We've been keeping our designer very busy lately creating t-shirts and other items for our new merch store. We think you'll like them. We also have a number of old t-shirts, hats and posters that we'll be placing on this site soon at reduced prices.
Check out the Fate album in its entirety here. The stream will be available until next Tuesday when the album is released. Please let us know what you think, either through our myspace page or email. Time is running out for the pre-order special, so grab your copy today.
Check out a one minute clip from the song Ten here. This was the first song to be written for the album, Fate. It's also one of our favorites to play live. Give us your feedback at the Fountain of Tears MySpace page, and check back later this week for more new music from Fate.
What Lies Ahead will be the first single from Fate. Listen to a radio edit Here in mp3 format or right-click Here to download (File size = 4MB). Give us your feedback at the Fountain of Tears MySpace page.

The album is finished! Peter from FineTune did an excellent job on the mastering. Chris Ruch from Darklight Media has designed the album cover and CD insert. We are proofing the artwork, production credits and lyrics now and have set a CD release date of February 13, 2007. The Corruption and Forever Lost clips on the "Audio Clips" page have been updated. (The rough mixes have been replaced with samples from the final mixes. They're also on this page in the right hand column.) Soon we will be unveiling the album cover and some additional audio clips. We're accepting pre-orders. Order now to get an autographed CD for $12.00 and free shipping. More news to come soon.

Fountain of Tears' upcoming album, entitled "Fate", is currently being mastered by Peter van't Reit at FineTune in The Netherlands. Peter has mastered Stream of Passion, Ayreon, Symphony X, Asia, Epica, etc. It's been an interesting experience to work on the all-important mastering stage with someone who's on another continent, but it has been going well and we're excited to have Peter involved with our project. A release date will be forthcoming, but we are now accepting pre-orders for the album.

Last weekend I was back in the studio with Joey Daub and Kurt Bachman to finish the bulk of the mixing for our album. We were able to finish all of the main tracks and will now work on finalizing a few interludes and transitions.

The Fountain of Tears album is moving closer to completion. The recording
phase is over and we are now mixing the album and editing a few effects to
place between some of the songs. We have final mixes for a couple songs and
they sound great. The production on this album is top-notch and we are
excited about finally hearing the results of the long hours and hard work
that have been invested in this project. We thought we would be announcing a
release date by now, but so far we can't. There are too many variables
affecting the scheduling process. Other acts such as The Roots, Amos Lee and
Justin Timberlake are also working on new projects at the same studio and we
have to work around their schedules. We know we have a great product and are
waiting til it is complete to shop it around again for a possible distribution deal. In the meantime, we may begin playing a few shows again. We miss seeing you guys!
